But the misoginy is so evident.

This disease is not uncommon across the world yet it only gets reported widely in India due to our sensationalist media.
We have to 2/n
Only way to get out of the malice is when women venture outside n this becomes commonplace.
And to deny that mass media n movies have no influence 3/n
It is not the issue of rape alone. It is much deeper. Seldom do we address that aspect.
All the bluster is about killing the rapists. Absolutely do that. But what 4/n
Fear of a death penalty is not enough. It subsides under the influence of alcohol/drugs n sheer 5/n
I am not trying to defend the rapists but I firmly believe it is a deeper issue to do with psyche more than anything else.
In any case this is not the last case tragically.
It is a generational change 6/n
That counselling has to be done alongside strengthening law n order n legal system.
The approach has to be holistic. There is no other way out of this 7/n
It brings shame to me when my friends from abroad are taken pictures of without consent or just by the way creeps follow them or look at them.
I intervene but it is only temporary. A longstanding 8/n
We r reactionary people n not responsive.
Its sad but realistically not the last.
Let us at least now come up with a comprehensive solution n not restrict it to #hashtags or sensationalism
