Not easy to work out where @UKLabour goes from here. There are already two competing narratives out there about where it all went wrong. Here are a few downbeat thoughts. 1/
One view is that the country has rejected Corbyn and/or Corbynism. Within that, there are lots of very different things which *could* be the main focus. 2/
Is it the radicalism of the programme, the deliberate tacking away from the centre ground? Is it the failures in party management (the way in which anti-semitism has (not) been dealt with properly; divided constituency parties, etc)? Is it Corbyn himself and his poor ratings? 3/

It's the last Sunday evening before the general election. Let me try to dispense some ancient Greek wisdom to the warring Lab and LD parties (prompted by the exchanges between @joswinson and @AngelaRayner on the latest debate). 1/6

Lab and LD are seeking to ensure that wavering voters vote for them, so that they can win the marginal seats they need. They are being very North Wind about it. A bit more Sun would help. 3/6

I've just been looking through the general election odds (courtesy of @Betfair - other bookmakers are available). I've assumed that candidates with odds of 1/3 (or better) are 'safe'... which means that the election in GB will be decided in just under 100 seats. 1/5
I may have missed a few; but...

In England:
59 of the 'close' seats are between Lab and Con.
12 are between LD and Con.
And 2 are between Independents and Con.
[There are none between Lab and LD.] 2/
In Wales:
9 of the 'close' seats are between Lab and Con.
1 is between PC and Con.
And 1 is between PC and LD. 3/

The increased support for a ‘no deal’ Brexit is the ultimate failure of the Leave movement. It’s the inevitable consequence of the refusal to grasp details, come to terms with complexity & coalesce around a plan. Compromise can be frustrating. So instead they will have a tantrum.
Some Brexiteers advocated sensible solutions. The EFTA/EEA solution gained a lot of traction in the years before the ref. Even Farage had promoted it & countless others. See Farage below from 2011 essentially making the ‘Liberal Leave’ case!

As a remainer I scratch my head as to why #Brexit continues to enjoy significant support despite overwhelming evidence its a really bad idea so thought I'd offer a psychological explanation for its appeal to some of its supporters which simply cannot lie in objective reality
I have no knowledge experience or professional qualifications in psychology whatsoever but as this is #brexit Britain this means I know more than professionals like @RichardBentall so offer my brexpertise on the psychological appeal of Brexit confident in my total ignorance
Being a Brexiter means being part of a huge crowd where not only are you all cheering for the same thing but this crowd permits and even encourages behaviour and attitudes which are normally forbidden and some brexiters at least feel liberated from decency and reason

As Remainer i now acknowledge that I was totally wrong about #brexit and how embrace the cause
Now that Turkey is just decades away from joining the EU I am so relieved. all that Turkish EU membership required was a simultaneous act of mass political suicide by multiple East European governments and a few western ones too which is clearly very likely
Liam fox is so besieged by countries desperate to offer us trade deals that he is having to hide to stop beating off offers with a shitty stick

As a #leavernow I would like to make it clear I knew exactly what I wished I'd voted for.
As a #leavernow I didn't believe a word of any of vote leaves promises and they had no impact whatsoever on any leave voter
As a #leavernow I knew #Brexit meant leaving the single market and didn't listen to Dan hannan keen Patterson or feudalism foxes website all of which were clear they favoured staying in the single market
