UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres says “If we do not urgently change our way of life we jeopardise life itself.”

That statement is pseudoscientific, completely bonkers, and unethical. It is the kind of thing creating eco-anxiety.

According to best science, crop yields increase even at very high temp (e.g. 4°C) change, so there is NO SCIENCE for claims of famine

Ag *tech* matters more than *climate*

In fact, best science shows climate *policy* would hurt food production more than climate *change*

Some people say, "Just ignore them" but that's easy for you to say

Imagine being 12 years old & your parents & teachers letting @ExtinctionR lecture you that we're all going to die unless you fight for their radical agenda

The most healthy response to such apocalypse-mongering is to talk back to it using science, which is what @LaurenJeffrey_ did

Forget the hype

- Climate risk NOT more apocalyptic today

- Rather, THOUSANDS of studies used very high-CO2 scenario as "business as usual"

- But world NOT on track for very high-CO2

- 2°C increase far more likely than 4°

Don’t believe the hype:

- global temp. headed to 2-3 degrees C over pre-industrial levels, not 4

- Far less risks at 2 than 4

- International Energy Agency forecasts emissions in 2040 as lower than in almost all IPCC scenarios

- Cheaper natural gas & less coal are key reason
