You promised 500k homes/year; you delivered a 20% decline in homebuilding

You promised to reduce homelessness; it rose 16%

You said you’d to stand up to NIMBYs; instead, you abandoned YIMBYs

Now you want to spend another $1.2B in ways experts agree will fail
“Gov. Newsom’s proposal won’t have an impact on the nation’s largest homeless population, according to the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office” bc he has “no clear strategy for curbing homelessness in California”

Rather than allow more homes to be built, @GavinNewsom wants to subsidize rent, which is madness

“The money Newsom is putting in the fund is ‘one-time money,’ that won’t be available again next year. That’s why it is not a good idea to use it to pay for rent subsidies.”
I wonder what happens when you increase demand through government subsidy (i.e. rent subsidies) without increasing supply (i.e. housing)?
