The Saudi shootings at NASP raise a range of questions, including whether: (1)Congressional pressure will now intensify for restrictions on arms sales to KSA, including F-15s (Trump vetoed restrictions last summer).
defensenews.com/congress/2019/…
(2) the incident will be seen in context of U.S.' cooperation w/ Saudi Air Force in widely condemned Saudi bombing of Yemen, in which civilians have been targeted (opposition to which gave impetus to the Congressional action referred to above).
(3) it offers investigators a window into possible opposition to the Saudi regime within the Saudi Air Force, and possibly other military arms. Dissident pilots are particularly dangerous: they can bomb royal palaces as easily as Yemeni guerrillas.
Seen as a 'straw in the wind' about domestic Saudi politics, this incident is potentially more significant than a simple 'act of terrorism' against the U.S. @Dr_Ulrichsen
