Bangladesh is already richer than the states of India that border it, and its economy is growing faster than India's. That's why our domestic to-do about illegal immigration is so focused on people who arrived in India decades ago. some as far back at the 1930s.
The most that anyone can get out of the NRC is schadenfreude about 'other' people's needless suffering. India has already assured B'desh that no one will be sent to that country, which means that at 1600 crores per state, we can spend a lot of money for nothing.
The only issue is demographic change in the historic homelands of some ethnicities. That's a tough one. We can only hope that people in those areas will see that they gain a lot by their shared citizenship with other Indians, and that shared freedoms are part of that partnership.
