Being a Jew in America, 2019: enduring DT spew antisemitic tropes to a room filled w/Jewish-Americans last night, only to hear a US rep today refer to the "New York lawyer". We know what that means. I just never thought it would be like this in the USA. #ImpeachmentHearings
In all my years of life, I have never been as concerned about anti-Jewish hate as I am now; I have friends who have taken their Jewish symbol necklaces off; I know people walking around w/their passports in their purse just in case... THIS IS NOT OK. Jews need to feel safe here.
Can I use this as a "teaching moment"? When an African-American, gay person or Mexican-American says they don't feel safe in this country- the compassionate response is NOT: well, Jews don't feel safe either. It IS: I hear you. I will stand up for you.
There is enough compassion to go around. This is not the "oppression Olympics" - The truth I live by is: "Until we are all free, we are none of us free." (Emma Lazarus) MANY Of us are threatened & we need to fight for ALL our rights to happiness, safety, & equality. FREE of slurs

It's hard for me to tweet through my tears at this utter ignorance & antisemitism. How is this happening in a country where we felt so safe? Trump is no "King of Israel". Trust me on this.
I've said for 3 years: Donald trump is good for NOBODY except Donald trump. That's been clear as day from the beginning. All his tweets this week have put a target on American Jews. Increased security & fear abound. 2/
My students last night expressed deep disbelief, great fear, concern for the safety of their children & grandchildren re: trump's comments. You have no idea what this kind of talk triggers in Jews. He's got to stop /end

Apparently our leaders value the rights of the ppl who want to buy assault rifles over the rights of MOST OF US to live our lives without dying....
Apparently it's ok for Donald Trump to spew hate on this platform, have the media cover it 24/7 WHEN we KNOW this fuels white supremacists & legitimizes violence....
Apparently it's acceptable to have people in power (looking at you #GOP) completely ignore the will of the people who want common sense gun laws so they can take blood money from the NRA...

you know, i've had it with Steve Mnuchin. He is NOT beyond the law. In fact, I've had it with all of them. Enough shenanigans already. Someone needs to tell them we are in a democracy & we have rules that apply to everyone. E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E.
2/ & another thing. I'm sick of the news too. I'm tired of the back & forth & intracies of the NOTHING. What we need is simple: full unredacted report, tax returns, Mueller testifying, public hearings of ALL OF THEM. Let me know when that happens. Anything else feels like BS
3/ I want to wake up tomorrow having every single newsperson calling it like it is: cyberwarfare (not "meddling"), illegal activity by cabinet officials, anti-constitional actions by govt. HAIR ON FIRE. WE ARE IN DANGER.

The data we have (from @VividSeats) is truly incredible. In every county, we have a record of the share of concert/etc ticket sales that fall into each genre in 2015/19. Here's that map (with each county scaled for population). Cities like rap/hip hop. Rural areas like country.
The music genre that most correlates with Republican vote share is, as you might expect, country music. A preference for "New Age" music (whatever that is) and Rock are also "red". Rap, Hip Hop & R&B, as mentioned, are "blue" music—as is liking alternative artists or Latin music.

Americans are once again allowing the Republican and Democrat party divide us over race, when in fact race is not the issue! Please look at the foreign policies these woman support, and the policies they do not support! This is not about race & we must address the real issues!

I ask for Americans to please look at the human policies these woman are addressing. I ask Americans to actually research the US Foreign Policy that causes massive Refugees and Endless War.
I ask Americans to look at who is funding the election campaigns of their representatives. I ask Americans to question why we are continously at war, when it does not benefit the United States! I ask Americans to research the foreign influence that controls US policy!

I watched 'AOC' on a TV interview last night. On it she was celebrating Amazon's cancellation of its New York HQ. She said that the $3 billion that Amazon were getting (in tax benefits) could now be spent on education and subway upgrades. She is that financially illiterate.
A well meaning idiot like AOC thinks that the tax breaks that will now not happen, on the cash that will now not be generated at all (in NY), will now somehow magically produce 3 billion of cash from thin air to pay for public services. The stupidity is mind numbing.
Remarkably, the journalist doing the interview didn't ask the question about where this 3 billion would now come from as the only place it was going to be generated was within Amazon. Would Amazon just send 3 billion to New York because AOC & pals frustrated Amazon's plans?

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).
