There will be no self-reflection on the left over this, so they won’t ever really confront the complete and utter ghoulishness of their behavior yesterday and today. Long term damage done.
Liel’s anger is entirely justified. Trump backs a bipartisan move to protect Jews from antisemitic harassment and ppl responded, en masse, by *literally* calling him Hitler. “Nuremberg laws!” they screeched. You could not have scripted a more demented reaction.
I keep coming back to this. In Washington you see plenty of cynicism and bad faith, but this is really above and beyond what any respectable person should be able to do and still look at themselves in the mirror. 
Jews being targeted on campuses all over North America, getting shot in the streets, getting jumped in Brooklyn—and the Jewish Democratic Council of America is whipping up opposition to a move against antisemitism simply because its leader is a pure partisan. Gross.
Imagine being so broken by cultish partisanship, so ruined by hatred of your fellow Americans—not to mention your fellow Jews—that you are incapable of principle, of decency, of compassion.
