1) The Cenk Uygur debacle is the latest reminder that the Bernie movement was created by the shittiest people on the left, simply because they had an axe to grind against everyone else on the left – and a whole lot of good people naively ended up supporting a complete shit show.
2) Nearly every one of Bernie's 2016 surrogates has turned out to be a monster, a whack job, a fraud, or all of the above. Bernie himself means well. But he's always been painfully, unacceptably slow in distancing himself from his freak show surrogates.
3) Bernie's premise is 'I'm such a perfect candidate, the liberal establishment is conspiring against me.' We're supposed to see it as a plus that every solid surrogate is backing someone else. The reality is he just doesn't impress anyone who understands how things actually work
4) Warren is to the left of Bernie, and she's ten times more smart and savvy, so she'd do far more to move the country to the left. Even Biden, who's not particularly to the left, would do more to move the country to the left than Bernie would, simply based on competence.
5) But if you support an adult candidate like Warren or Biden, you don't get to feel special about fighting back against the imaginary establishment conspiracy against Bernie. You don't get to play the victim. You don't get to be cutesy. You don't get to whine.
6) Bernie won't be the 2020 nominee for the same reason he wasn't the 2016 nominee: two liberals think he's a joke for every one liberal who worships him. But he'll endorse the nominee late and weakly again, and he'll cost the nominee a few points in the general election again.
7) If you want proof that Bernie would get destroyed if he were the nominee (in 2016 or 2020), just look at how poorly his British twin Corbyn did this week against Trump's twin Boris Johnson. When both sides nominate a buffoon, the conservative buffoon usually wins.
8) In any case, props to all of you who unwittingly cheered for Bernie's toxic shit show in 2016, but have since figured out you got sucked into something you didn't sign up for. It takes real guts to reverse course on something like that.
9) And yes, if Bernie were the 2020 nominee, I would stand in line all day in the rain just to vote for him over Trump, because adults always vote for the better of two flawed candidates. Then I'd go home and build an underground bunker, because Trump probably would beat Bernie.
10) Remember: people who use phrases like "establishment democrat" or "corporate shill" are deranged lunatics who are only here to burn it all down. They're not going to vote in the general election anyway. Block them and move on.
