THREAD: A close friend just sent me an IM (yes, we're old...although I'm much older!). She is extremely intelligence & conservative, but pretty much beyond the fray of politics, beyond social-issue politics. She's never cared about either "Russia collusion" or "SpyGate." 1/
2/ I can't remember her EVER asking me a question about either even though she knows I follow and write on it at length. And even though we often discuss other "breaking news" & my articles. So today, out of the blue she asked me a question about the IG report on FISA abuse.
3/ Several back-and-forths later, with details, follow-ups, etc., I said "out of curiosity, why the curiosity?" because I knew this wasn't her "thing."
4/ She responded: "b/c of the FISA court judge smackdown. have never heard such serious reprimand.

5/ Now, she's a lawyer, so maybe that has something to do with it. BUT many on Right thought FISA court didn't really do a smackdown, but that's because we're immersed in the abuse. Many--lawyers and non-lawyers--aren't and didn't give a whit but do now.
6 And the Left's distraction with impeachment isn't working: Same dear friend asked me my thoughts and I said I wasn't following other than it's a hoax and she said she wasn't either. Again, well-informed, educated, etc. BUT FISA abuse broke through the noise.
