Rally turned chaotic &had to be cut short after riot police entered square to subdue at least 2 people,after some allegedly took off the national flag at the square. Protesters at this APPROVED rally ran away in panic, or threw objects back in anger. Pepper spray & black flag.

As night falls, riot police set up cordon lines outside the IFC mall in Central, with some shoppers shouting at them 'you are interrupting my shopping! 'you are just trying to get overtime pay!' Must be an interesting Xmas shopping experience. #HongKongProtests
