The KJV translation of Luke 2:14's just not right, I can tell. Logic says there's no way that's the right translation and every other translation is wrong. The angel is *not* wishing all men peace and good will--only the ones God favors.
That's a significant difference. But I like the KJV version much better both for its familiarity and its ecumenism (in the broadest of senses). I certainly wish peace on earth and good will to all.
And if I were God, that's just what you'd get.

For some reason, I'm not running the show. But if I were, you'd get peace and good will, and I'd force it on you, frankly--free will be damned. I'm utterly unpersuaded that evil and war are necessary so that we can exercise our free will. I'd rather do away with the free will.
Perhaps that's why I'm not God. Or an angel.
