I am on a flight delay at an airport and there is a person here with an emotional support duck.

I have questions.

For those asking for pics, the duck is in some sort of a container but the quacking is unmistakable.

I mean, seriously, I want to understand how you get cleared to fly with an emotional support duck.

For those asking, no, it is not going in the cargo hold. We, the several hundred of us, are going to fly with said duck in the passenger cabin.

Imagine the possibilities.

For those seeking updates, this plane is a veritable menagerie. Three dogs (one seeing eye, one quite obvious legit support, one more), a cat in a container with its own porthole plastic window (who knew), and the duck. So far so good. No fights have broken out.

Update: one of the dogs on board is very clearly guarding its owner against the duck. Up and alert Boston terrier. Ruff.

I am surprised that the duck isn’t quacking, FWIW. Perhaps it’s a frequent flyer.

I’m off to pick up my own emotional support animal who has been in doggie daycare for 8 days.
