I get @daveweigel's rankings. The 2014 election gave Mitch McConnell the ability to obstruct Obama's federal court picks, block Merrick Garland, & let Trump appoint Gorsuch+Kavanaugh to SCOTUS & stack the federal judiciary for generations.
The 2010 election killed Obama's agenda from 2011-2017. It gave Republicans control of Congress, allowing them to spend 2012-2016 repeatedly investigating Benghazi+emails to bring Hillary Clinton's 70% favorable rating down (Kevin McCarthy told Sean Hannity that was the purpose).
Without Republicans winning the House in 2010 & Senate in 2014, Obama would've been able to get his jobs bills passed, likely with a much quicker boost to the economy.

But also: Mitch McConnell wouldn't have been able to block Obama's public statement on Russian 2016 attacks.

THE SICK
–Since 2013, Gov Bryant has rejected billions in federal funds to expand Medicaid, which would've opened access to approx 300,000 more people.
–Lack of expansion forced 5 rural ERs to close; people in closure communities have since died bc it took too long to get to a ER

We decided to watch the Stars Wars Christmas Special.

Just got past the first 20 mins of wookies wailing & moaning at each other. Now one is watching a cooking show with an Oompa Loompa Paula Dean. Wtf.

Was this something people watched in the '70s while high on LSD/shrooms?
Okay now they got grandpa wookiee high af with a "brain evaporator" and there's a kaleidoscope... and now... it's getting really pornographic all of a sudden and grandpa wookie is having fantasies and oh my god

And now for some reason it just morphed into a terribly animated cartoon where Luke, Leia and C-3PO look like they snorted meth. Did they run out of money to pay the actors halfway through or what?

A major problem with news coverage of Kavanaugh's deception is that the news relies on experts for its stories & that many of the legal experts including #NeverTrump conservatives & anti-trump progressives know #Kavanaugh to be a thoughtful lawyer. (Cartoon via @tomtomorrow)
A good example of this came from 1 of my favorite podcasts, @NSLpodcast. Hosts are 2 attorneys—1conservative/1progressive—both critical of Trump. Both set aside evidence of #Kavanaugh's dishonesty bc they believe him to be honest. They know him personally

Never forget how far down the rabbit hole we are.

Kavanaugh should not be the deciding #SCOTUS vote. McConnell nuked precedent by kneecapping Merrick Garland & changed Senate rules to take away the judicial filibuster.

If the Republicans in Congress were doing the job our founders intended, the Intel Committees would be deep into ongoing, meaningful Russia & emoluments hearings. Info would have likely come out that made it impossible for the Senate to even entertain a Trump SCOTUS pick.

If the GOP didn’t suppress votes & gerrymander districts - the GOP wouldn’t even have the majority in the House in the first place. If they didn’t spread disinformation and race-bait, working class voters would know that voting for GOP policies would harm them - not help them.
