I first said Trump's Twitter should be shut down in 2017, when he violated the terms of service and should've been suspended on the grounds that the terms of service APPLY TO EVERYONE, but there was money to be made and now Twitter has let a career criminal crime here three years
1/ My feeling is that every American has had or will have at least one chance to do something courageous and significant to push back against Trump's burgeoning autocracy, and the one thing that Twitter had a chance to do, which is suspend an obvious ToS violator, it did not do
2/ Run through in your mind all the reasons you have ever seen a Twitter account suspended or a tweet removed, and ask yourself whether the most powerful Twitter account in America trying to get a specific named individual killed to disrupt a federal proceeding is worse than that
3/ The remarkable thing is Twitter didn't even have to ban Trump immediately, it could've removed the offending tweet the first 10 times Trump committed a crime here, then given him a temporary suspension the second 10 times he committed a crime here, then banned him after *that*
4/ There's *no* doubt that every time Trump has tried to out the person he thinks is the whistleblower, his intent has been to cause him/her either physical or emotional or other harm, after already publicly harassing, slandering, and wrongly calling him/her a criminal for months
5/ There are countries where the law is applied equally to all people, and where even the terms of service on a social media platform are applied equally to all people, and the sad fact is that it turns out that America isn't a place that has *any* abiding principles *whatsoever*
