Litigation in the era of Trump:

DOJ says the president had nothing to do with its decision to fire former FBI agent Peter Strzok. His lawyers respond by quoting President Trump's remarks last week taking credit for firing him and others.
There's a pretty remarkable pattern at this point of the Justice Department contradicting President Trump in court filings. And an even weirder pattern of DOJ expressly arguing the president doesn't always know what he's talking about ->
Lawyers for former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, who is also contesting his dismissal, just filed a notice quoting the same Trump interview, which they say "would discredit [DOJ's] stated reason for purportedly firing" him.
