Just had a 15 minute phone call from the Metropolitan Police Counter-Terrorism unit because of malicious false reporting against me on their confidential hotline.
They told me they believe the reports against me are baseless & malicious in intent, and there is no case against me
They did however confirm to me that this false report was a result of the vindictive Islamophobic online trolling campaign against me for my reporting on Syria.
If I didn't already have a public profile large enough for the Met to instantly dismiss the baseless claims against me, my family home could have easily been subjected to a police raid.

Why? For the crime of reporting while Muslim.
I do not blame the Met Police for this report, they were professional and apologetic and immediately understood the nature and intent of the false allegations, but what if they hadn't?

Ask yourself if a white non-Muslim reporter would ever be subjected to this.
For the record, one of the allegations against me was that I am a supporter of the White Helmets, a Syrian humanitarian medical organisation partially funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
I'm a reporter, I have profile, they can't make up lies about me so easily. But Britain is now home to hundreds of former White Helmets volunteers and their families as refugees. What happened to me could happen to them too, but the consequences magnified.

For the avoidance of any doubt, I believe this racist campaign against me is coming from the British Far Left, not the Far Right, and I have good reasons why.
