[Thread] 1/ Since the execution of Qasim Soleimani there are a lot of Twitter accounts tweeting in Farsi and English on the hashtag #hardrevenge and #انتقام_سخت . Content wise I wouldn't necessarily say at this point there is a disinformation campaign. It is likely that a
2/ lot of accounts are being set up to amplify the message that there will be retribution as a response to the killing of Soleimani. Indeed, of 6,683 unique accounts using the hashtag 'hardrevenge', 254 were created on 3rd January. That's a large proportion. However as the graph 
3/ shows there has been a large increase in accounts created in the past few months, which again is fairly common but also indicative of increased coordinated messaging campaigns on Twitter. Remember people are likely to join Twitter en masse if there's a big event, or for the
4/ purposes of a targeted and mass messaging/propaganda campaign. At a cursory glance you can see the most popular retweets are in both English and Persian, indicating that this is obviously meant to send a message to English speakers.
