Conclusion of the usual excellent thread from @pmdfoster. Singling this out because I think clumsiness towards EU talks has been widely evident since December 12, it seems by putting message ahead of substance. Storing up problems for the future.
@pmdfoster My confusion over the government's intentions for the future EU relationship might not matter too much - except that businesses who might invest share that confusion, and so delay the investment. And competing voices seek to fill the vacuum making progress harder.
@pmdfoster I've repeatedly raised the issue of the UK's unclear Brexit and trade objectives, and that "Free Trade Agreement" is not an outcome but a tool. There's a real risk that lack of direction will see the UK continue to struggle in negotiations, with real economic impact.
