Not correct. US farm lobbies are a crucial part of support for their FTAs (EU farm lobbies similarly for theirs), US farmers regard EU (and currently UK) food rules as protectionist, and hard to imagine any US trade deal leaving such barriers in place.
A US trade expert suggests the US might settle for not removing all UK food barriers. Note when I suggest "hard to imagine" or "difficult" I really don't mean impossible. So will be interesting to see
Turns out I was relatively polite about a US trade deal and food... and @alanbeattie has walked the trade deal road many times before

What are the chances on a Scottish referendum with a result of 52:48 for independence in the next few years?
Another question. Which is more likely to be intact in 5 or 10 years time, the EU or the UK? Then consider what that tells us about the pressures to reach a deal, particularly as EU Member States know their role in negotiations...
The interests of the Scotland and Northern Ireland devolved governments will be rather different in negotiations with the EU to those of the UK government. Current strategy of the UK government seems to be to ignore this. Brave.

I've seen this movie before. Turned out the opening scene was misleading.
Seriously though, it really takes some doing after three years of failed threats of no deal and we'll divide the Member States to believe that the reasons this round will be different are threats of no deal and divisions among the Member States.
If the EU consults widely among its members, and the UK keeps negotiating positions secret to a very few people, the EU is bound to be more united than the UK.

As for no-deal, is this still the German car makers coming to the rescue?
