Social media is humming with the technology not so much the moral impact of this event. Iran still maintains innocence but forensics say that someone in control of sophisticated Russian SAMs fired at least one missile at a easy to identify commercial aircraft. Why? 
Mea Culpa: By the way the Tor fragment is not the "tip". It is midway. But the SAM system overall is a serious piece of Russian hardware designed to shoot down fast movers. Positioned in an odd place too. Near a built up suburb which I guess is not so odd for the Iranians.
