Ever actor, artist, technician hoping to make it big had to pay homage to the sugar daddies who in turn would have links with financiers.

The funding source/ financier would invariably earned big bucks through some black money source - terror financing, scams etc. Bollywood was their number one method of pumping in their ill gotten gains into the economy.

The first thing that hit them was #Demonetisation . Overnight their financiers discovered that their well accumulated cash bags were just bags full of paper. Strapped for funds they could not finance the next big Bollywood movie! (6)
The second thing that hit them was the abrogation of article #370 and the impoverishment of Pakistan.

These pockets would then send Indian tax payer money across the border it would seem. Invariably that money intended for J&K would find its way into Bollywood eventually via Pakistan.

Slowly but surely through these actions Bollywood and it's henchmen, sugar daddies and financiers are being forced to show their hand.
In some ways the swachh Bharat abhiyaan is underway there too. Some people are obviously pained and hence are rabidly anti govt. (9)

That is why we saw the entire fraternity of Bollywood serve dinner to the guests at the Royal Ambani wedding. They were obviously paid to do so but they also understand what Ambani as a financier can do for them. (10)
What has also happened as a result of these tectonic shifts is that slowly led by people like Ajay, Akshay there are movies being made to an alternative narrative. Tentative steps that the filmmakers are taking. Aware that the old feudal Lord's won't appreciate them. (11)
As an audience who was being used to oil this behemoth to whitewash the funds made by scamming us or those used to kill us, we need to understand the working completely.
We finally need to start separating the wheat from the chaff and support those trying to clean it up! (12)
