But there's a problem here - and it's central to the entire conflict.

The 1967 borders mean... the borders prior to the Six Day War. And those borders - the 1949 Green Line - weren't defensible. At all. So Israel will never retreat to them.
And while the UN would say "sorry Israel, back you go, thanks", Israel's under no obligation to do anything at all. What they have, they hold. That's realpolitik in practice: in particular because in all of history, there has never been an independent Palestinian state.
That's not me agreeing with Israel. That's me setting out their position. There is no chance of peace ever happening until their position is understood and acknowledged. Their perspective is that ANY concession made is painful and doesn't have to happen.

(Very) unpopular opinion: Elizabeth II has been a great queen. She commands respect. But as a mother and grandmother?!

Charles: treated Diana despicably; Diana was shut out by the family and left to suffer alone.

Edward: vanished from public life
Anne: OK, no problem there

Harry: is it really beyond the bounds of possibility that she could've stepped in to stop the staggeringly, monstrously racist media coverage of his wife?
My broad conclusion is: this family is fantastically dysfunctional because in this day and age, it's impossible to live their lives in front of the cameras and maintain the 'stiff upper lip' in the manner of the past.

But she has to take some of the responsibility, surely?

Too many things about this election don't make sense! Numbers make sense don't they?
Let's talk numbers then..

1. All polls online I saw suggested #corbyn was more popular with the public as a future PM.
Not just ones in left wing groups. (60-70% roughly)

2. All public rallies #corbyn held were utterly rammed to the barriers. Thousands.
The only room Boris filled in the run up to an election was a fridge. I'm not sure about these numbers. It would be nice to know, anyone know for certain?

3. Boris hired people to use bots to do much of his online dirty work and mis informing.

My father used To narrate the story of his colleague. Every month he used To buy Indira Vikas Patra for Rs. 500. In those days, rate of interest was 12%. Every 6 yrs amount invested would double.
His colleagues used To laugh "500 se kya hoga" 1/n
He did this religiously for 6 years. Then in next 6 years, every month he used To get Rs. 1000 maturity of what he invested in last 6 years. As he was getting salary, he didn't need this money for monthly expenses. So he renewed his IVPs. 2/n
In next 6 years, he got Rs 2000 pm from IVPs maturing which he again reinvested for 6 years.

This, when he retired, he got a decent pension from IVPs.. Bearer certificates... so one can take cash and not pay tax. And this was in addition To pension from RBI

So, this 'debate' then. God, did you really watch those two? I had a lovely soothing evening - and, by the sounds of things, I made the right call. Anyway, on the *face of it*, a split decision and a slight BoJo win. /THREAD
However, consider these appalling #Corbyn leader ratings from the last time these pollsters reported. He came on and made a cogent case. He held his own. Yeah, he lied through his teeth a bit, but who doesn't? His next set of numbers will be better, perhaps by quite a bit.
Viewers' expectations will have been confounded. If we consult Lord Ashcroft's latest polling dashboard, we find that among all voters, 36% expected Johnson to win, against only 18% thinking Corbz would shade it.

To understand why, I need to outline 2 important mechanisms that most people, politicians and commentators seem to ignore, dismiss or simply don't get. They have different and somewhat opposite consequences, but are both decisive in the current & foreseeable predicaments.

1st and foremost: the biggest constraint that applies to political decision-making comes from the past decisions & policies.
It is a massive constraint.
Cameron COULD NOT convincingly campaign for #Remain, because his own policies CREATED the discontent channelled by #Leave.
