Whenever I hear "cancel culture" I wonder about people who can imagine no greater penalty than negative social reactions to public actions.
Be friendly with Trump, by all means.

Hollywood celebs who are/were friendly with Barack Obama certainly weren't free from negative social reaction to that friendliness.
Ask somebody bemoaning "cancel culture" if they think Kathy Griffin or Rosie O,Donnell or George Clooney should talk more about politics, or less.
