Warren has a credibility issue, & its not sexist to point that out. She spent most of her political career repeating a lie that harmed Native ppl.

And--in the way that lying works--to support her false claims she's perpetuated other half-truths, deceptions & racist comments.
Like many other white families in OK, Warren’s replaced the truth of their complicity in Cherokee dispossession with a tale of BEING Cherokee.

She went to the ends of the earth to defend this lie, which any way you slice it, is deeply rooted in racism.

In her DNA video, she talked about her supposedly Cherokee family living in "Indian Territory". They did. They were White ppl illegally squatting on Cherokee land at a time when we were overrun by settlers and actually outnumbered on our own treaty territory.
When the issue first came up in 2012, her Senate campaign pointed to her inclusion in the cookbook "Pow Wow Chow" to defend her. She submitted crab dishes as "Cherokee" food (our tribe is located in Oklahoma) she PLAGIARIZED the recipes. One word for word.
During this time, she also defended her claims by saying her family members had "high cheekbones" just like "all the Indians."

On the campaign trail, she is still defending herself by saying she just repeated what her family told her.

Shes had the genealogical evidence she's not Cherokee since 2012. For the better part of a decade, she picked political convenience over truth.
Yes, she apologized. But she's never publicly stated the truth about her family.

(And all her defenders who will comment on this thread that "she has a Native ancestor" and "the DNA test proves it" only demonstrate how she STILL benefits from the public confusion she caused.)
