- Yesterday, when a transphobe dug out an ugly tweet I wrote 9yrs ago, I apologized for transphobia
- My apology stands
- This 👇🏽from the day before my tweet gives background
- My tweet was about a model - in a bra ad - who ID’d as a man at the time & came out as trans 2yrs later
- I’ve learned from people who knew Andreja Pejić that only close friends knew at the time of the ad that she had transitioned. It was made public in 2013
- I did not know
- I learned from a Dutch trans woman (the ad was in the Netherlands) that the ad meant a lot to her in 2011
- I’m glad everything I wrote yesterday in my apology is there for the record to explain why I fight vs transphobia today
- this is about more than what I did not know at the time
- I can imagine it took Andreja a few yrs to come out because of transphobia

..the latest onslaught of Transphobia. CONTEXT: I was talking with a cis lesbian & a cishet woman re: my last tweet. Cishet friend asks me: "Are you recovered from being accused of not being a 'real' lesbian, though? It's not like cis lesbians would ever support trans women🙄"..
.. My reply "Oh yeah, I'm over it. That sh*t never bothers me tbh. I absolutely do not care what t*rfs think about me". Cis lesbian friend then says: "I’m less annoyed about dyk*s doing that than straight women telling me I’m not a lesbian." (a point I agree with btw)...
