Almost all you will read in academic textbooks about ancient India is either superficial, banal, half-truth or plain wrong.

Worse, Indology a racist enterprise in which the stated objective is to teach Indians what their books mean.

The Editor of Macmillan Encyclopedia of Science, Technology, and Ethics (2005) could not find a "reasonable" scholar to write the essay on Hindu Perspectives on Ethics.

Sorry BBC, Bhuta Vidya भूत विद्या in आयुर्वेद means "Psychotherapy" and not "Ghost Studies".

Āyurvedic has eight branches: kāyāchikitsā (internal medicine), shalyachikitsā (surgery, anatomy), shālākyachikitsā (ENT diseases), kaumārabhritya (pediatrics), bhūtavidyā (psychiatry), agada tantra (toxicology), rasāyana (science of rejuvenation), and vājīkarana (fertility).
Ayurveda:

Charaka (Vi, 7.11), Sushruta (Utta, 54.19-20) and Vagbhata (Ni, 14.51) state that the pathogens growing in the blood are invisible.

Certainly the most advanced medicine of its times! And it has stuff related to mind-body that remains relevant for our times.

No word for "caste" in any Indian language. Caste not same as jati.

The British Supdt. of 1921 Census: “We pigeon-holed everyone by caste and if we had no true caste for them, labelled them with the hereditary occupation.. We are largely responsible for the system we deplore.”
"In the 19th century bands of missionaries, phrenologists, ethnologists, anthropologists, orientalists and eugenicists, set about identifying and classifying Indians like zoological specimens into different castes. They used head measurements, skin color, physique, occupation."
Risley, the Chief Commissioner of India's 1901 Census came with the definitive identifying marker of an Indian's caste. "The social status of a particular group varies in inverse ratio to the mean relative width of their nose!"

Former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija Mufti on Friday asked whether J&K was an integral part of #India or a colony.

J&K is not a colony. It is an integral part of #India. It is #Kashmir based parties who treated India as their colony by playing the separatist card.
Iltija Mufti also said that that #Article370 had nothing to do with development.

Only a person who lives outside the state can afford to be so ignorant. Iltija Mufti lives in Chennai and enjoys all the facilities which are not available here in #Kashmir.
#Article370 and 35A were responsible for J&K's backwardness while only benefiting a select few like the separatists, politicians of mainstream political parties of #Kashmir and their families.

1/ Manu (The progenitor of Humankind)
All different races of Mankind are derived from Manu and Shradha. The current Manu is Vaivasvata Manu.
2/ The word Manu literary means man but it is a title given to the progenitor of mankind. According to Hindu Puranas there are many kalpas (One day of Lord Brahma the creator) and each Kalpa has 14 manvantara and each manvatara has one manu. So basically each Kalpa has 14 Manus.
3/ The current manu of the present manvantara is Shraddhadeva or Vaivasvata Manu of this current Kalpa. He is the son of Vivasvat (Probably Surya) and is therefore also known as Manu-vaivasvata.
