1/n How, precisely, does this work? How does declaring a state of emergency allow a governor to ban guns? Let me show you how.
2/ Every state has "declaration of emergency" laws allowing the Governor to suspend other laws in times of emergency. Governors aren't doing this arbitrarily, but do so citing the law. Here is the governor's declaration citing the relevant statutes.

3/ So reading the law, does it give the governor the ability to ban guns? The law appears to say "no", that state of emergency does not "empower the governor to any way limit the rights of the people to keep and bear arms".

4/ But reading further down, it says "...except in any facility designated by the governor as an emergency shelter".
5/ So, we just need to go back to the original emergency declaration above and search for the word "shelter", and poof, there it is.

And yet, the FBI headquarters are named after the guy who grossly violated MLK's constitutional rights and used their spying on him to try to convince him to commit suicide.
There's no way the FBI can convince us they care about our civil liberties by continuing to honor the enormously corrupt J. Edgar Hoover who indiscriminately violated those rights.
FBI: "We need crypto backdoors. Trust us, we won't abuse them".
Also FBI: "J. Edgar Hoover was a great man who created our organization".

My periodic disagreement. Yes, you shouldn't use MD5 or SHA1 in anything new. But no, I can't recommend what you should use instead. It depends.
Maybe what you actually want is authenticated encryption, like AES-GCM. Maybe what you want is random number generation. If it was using MD5 in the past, then maybe it's not just about replacing the hash function.
Things like "BLAKE2" or "Argon2" are arguably the "best" or "optimal" at what they do, but you probably don't need the "best". What you are instead looking for is probably simply "adequate". SHA-2 is probably adequate and easily dropped in as a replacement.

Whelp, this about wraps it up for memcpy_s(). It looks like we need to go back to the drawing board and find a new secure function to copy memory in C.
The C programming language that run almost all of the world's compute infrastructure has both the feature and the flaw that it doesn't double-check memory. Thus, bugs in one part of the code can overwrite memory used in other parts.
It's a necessary feature for some "systems" programming, but is also dangerous for other tasks. Language like Rust solve this by being inherently "safe" for most accesses, allowing "unsafe" access only when needed.

As the work on building Amravati, the new capital city AP, comes to a grinding halt, concerns emerge about Amravati (APCRDA) bonds held by Franklin MF (~Rs. 1000 Cr) and Birla MF (Rs. ~300 Cr). Thread 1/11
During the Chandrababu Govt, Amravati received political as well as financial patronage. Now, with Jagan Reddy being incharge of the state, the project is in shambles. World Bank & ADB pulled out of the project and the Government is looking for reasons to scrap it. 2/n
The bonds issued to support the financing needs of the project were subscribed by Franklin MF and Birla MF. The bonds are guaranteed by the AP Govt but it's not sure if the Govt would keep servicing the bonds. The risk of lending to a state govt has again come to the fore. 3/11

Tutorial on how to make a map using QGIS. I'll turn @SenhorRaposa's 2000 Vermont town data into a map showing by how much Gore outran Senator Jeffords (or vice versa) in every town.
Step 1: Download QGIS for your computer, which is available here:
