If it's a guy, he'll be having it easy with the ladies. If it's a girl, it will be like she's a mini Goddess, men literally worshipping her. And it's only natural that you can envy it as well. Let's be honest, our greatest desire as human beings is to be relevant. To be needed
But behind those personas, most of them aren't happy. I'd like to think I used to be a tweleb, with my other account @Tawona_Shadaya ... The tweleb life most of you here wish for isn't all that glamorous. There's a dark side to it
@Tawona_Shadaya Yes, they're the pecks of being a tweleb, despite the huge followership & engagements, there is also the prospect of promos/ads. They get to advertise for all kinds of people & others even for big brands. Money is good, right ?
@Tawona_Shadaya But there's a dark side to it & it usually comes out in the form of depression. Just like celebrities, your personal life becomes a public story. That's why you see, most celebrities either die of depression related deaths e.g drug overdose or suicide
@Tawona_Shadaya With followership, comes expectations & the thought of disappointing them starts to haunt you. Everything you tweet, you have to analyze it twice or more, as to whether THEY will LIKE it or not. You're no longer expressing your mind, but what THEY want you to express
@Tawona_Shadaya Free will is gone. Whatever you tweet must make a good impression on your followers. Even if you disagree with something or share a different opinion on something, it doesn't matter, your followers' opinions matter. And believe, nothing's more stressful than that, it eats you up
@Tawona_Shadaya And believe, all those followers, they ain't your friends, one "wrong" tweet & they'll turn on you faster than Peter denied Jesus. They will troll you all day. Yes, the very same people who were telling you, you're this amazing person, will chew you alive
@Tawona_Shadaya Another thing is, your private life disappears. Oh yes, they'll dig out, where you live, work, family, who you're dating. Believe me, a private life is a happy life. They end up forgetting you're human just like everyone else, so they put up these standards for you
@Tawona_Shadaya I know many twelebs here, who lie about their backgrounds, their work/hustles, their partners, because they have standards to maintain. You start living a fake life, inorder to impress your followers. Borrowing cars, clothes, buying things you don't really need...
@Tawona_Shadaya Being at places you don't really need to be, just to appear hip to your followers. Is there anything that could be more depressing than not living the life you have but the life people expect of you. To maintain these standards, guys borrow & girls well you know 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
@Tawona_Shadaya Then the constant pressure of getting likes. These guys are always thinking about the next tweet, will it get many likes. That's why you see, they're always talking about every trending topic of the day despite knowing sh1t about it
@Tawona_Shadaya If it's politics trending that day, they become political analysts. If it's break-up of celebrities, they become relationship experts. If it's a natural disaster, they become geographers/metrologists. If it's a sport event, they become be it football or rugby analysts
@Tawona_Shadaya They're basically everywhere on every trending topic in order to remain relevant & the likes coming in. In this 21st century LIKES seemingly now have more value than money itself. They're a currency on their own. People are doing all kinds of things for LIKES
@Tawona_Shadaya A person will diss God just for likes. A person will promote immorality (abortion etc) just for likes. A person will talk sh1t about their own family, for likes. Heck, they're even stripping naked for likes. A naked body is no longer amusing, you see it everyday scrolling
@Tawona_Shadaya The moment the likes start depreciating you fall into depression. Because your entire self worth is now based on likes. Many are committing suicide because of such things. The need for validation. You start valuing yourself based on social networks allogarithms. It's sad
@Tawona_Shadaya So, honestly believe me, you're better off with your small account, your few followers & engagements. Being a nobody, at least you will have your sanity. Mental health matters, believe me, depression is a monster
@Tawona_Shadaya You have free will, you can express your mind, say whatever you want without feeling the need to impress someone else. You can live your life without maintaining standards. You know your true value, isn't based on likes. You're not a slave of this app. You're free
@Tawona_Shadaya To conclude, guys take time off this app or any other app for that matter. Don't spend much of your time, with your head buried on your phone. This is VIRTUAL not REALITY. Take time off, to be with your loved ones, get some air, do other physical things. LIVE LIFE!!!🤔🤔🤔
