More than perhaps anything else the last week has demonstrated Trump White House has been historic opening for a very odd assembly of opportunists who leverage personal ties to Trump/his family to attempt to enrich themselves or push their political goals (often without success)
Yes, this same thing happens with other politicians. But typically, there is at least some effort to screen who has regular access to POTUS and how they might be using this access to pursue questionable or at times illegal goals.
