🎈35 Life Lessons I've learned from 35 years of being alive🎈

Part 3 of 3

#30daysofthreads (19/30)

[Thread]
I turned 35 on Thursday.

To celebrate, I am sharing 35 life lessons I've picked up along the way.

You can read Pt1 here:

and Pt 2 here:

Let's finish this with Part 3...
25. Master a Skill or an Art

"Skills pay the bills" - Floyd Mayweather.

Skills also lay the path to freedom.

If you learn how to "productize yourself" as @naval points out, you'll be free and potentially be rich.

Learn to cultivate mastery in one skill or art and ...
pair it with sales, and you'll never have to bend the knee to any employer ever again.

Or, master the skill of Sales itself.

That skill alone has the potential to set you free.
26. Anyone can be Creative

I used to think creativity was limited to ppl who are purely artistic.

The kind that played music or draw for fun.

Reality is anyone can be creative.

Creativity is about challenging ideas and conventional way of doing things.

The first step to ...
being creative is by asking the question "why" often.

My teachers always told me curiosity kills the cat.

Like it's a bad thing to challenge old ways.

IF you want to be creative, do not fear asking "why" and be open to getting answers you might not like.

Being creative is ..
about seeing the world in grey as opposed to just black and white.
27. Live in multiple countries

It sounds cliched but living in different countries opens your mind

and gives you perspective that you would never have living in one country.

The older you get, the more ppl you meet, the more you realise we all live in a bubble.

If you want
to break your bubble,

then step out of it by moving to a different country. Preferably one where English is not the first language.
28. Embrace Hardship

They say the current generation is spoiled and lack perspective.

Sadly for them, having zero hardship in life makes them go crazy.

Hardship is what makes you humble, strong, and sharp .

People feign outrage at the most insignificant things because...
they really don't know what it's like to truly endure hardship.
29. Life is a story and you are the hero

We are all living out a story we watch in our minds.

You cannot help but do this.

So if you're going to play director and script writer, why not make a movie

that is beautiful and ambitious?

You are the hero so make yourself great
30. To make Money, give the people what they want

Average people only think about what they want.

Entrepreneurs think about what the people want, and then give it to them in exchange for their money.
31. Learn Sales

The word "sales" whiffs of con man and manipulation.

The reality is, we all sell.

Sales is just applied persuasion.

Want to be a millionaire? learn sales

Want to get your kids to eat healthier? learn sales

Sales is a super skill.
32. Most important thing you can sell is YOU

No one else will believe in you if you don't believe in yourself

You must believe in yourself and you must not be afraid to sell yourself.

Winners TAKE shit

Losers just accept what's given to them.

Take what's yours by Selling YOU
33. Don't chase approval. Chase greatness.

No one likes a desperate, needy person, but

Everyone is drawn to greatness.

Focus on being great by focusing on improving yourself. Daily.

When you are great, you will have a new problem...

Saying "NO" to people.
34. Always be 2 steps ahead

Most people focus on what's in front of them.

The winners are 2 steps ahead.

Simple example:

Avg Joe sees a phone he wants, pulls out his credit card and buys it.

He doesn't even understand he is not spending his money.

On the other hand,
the winner understands that a credit card is money advanced to him by the bank.

He doesn't buy anything he cannot pay in cash.

He doesn't buy anything impulsively.

He reinvests his money into his business when he knows he could blow it on stupid sh!t.

Think strategically.
35. If you want to be Free, be Self-Reliable with money and health

If you can make money on your own terms and know how to manage it,

and if you cultivate the eating and exercise habits you need to maintain good health,

you will be freer than 90% of the population.

That ends Part 3 of 3.
