While cheered by union leaders, gig economy workers pay the price
So job one for CA's legislature should be to repeal it & restore the freedom to work

The State now decides how many stories a freelance journalist can write.
That provision alone has already cost hundreds of Californian's their jobs.
For instance, it limits freelancers to writing 35 stories a year for any one publication.
When that writer submits story 36, do you think their publisher will likely hire them as an employee to get that story?
No, it will be “thank u, next.”
Gig economy jobs allow workers to lift their families up into the middle class, including workers for which 9-5 jobs simply don’t work.
Yet California managed to award exemptions to doctors, lawyers, engineers, investment advisors, architects, and grant writers.
Funny how that works 🤔
Repealing AB5 and restoring the freedom to work for all Californians is the only responsible choice.
Workers are showing the flexibility, innovation, & creativity to succeed
But AB5 restrains that entrepreneurial spirit & forces workers out of their jobs. Not how government should work.
We should all embrace the flexibility and opportunity that the gig economy creates.

Tonight, a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives voted to take aspects of #AB5 nationwide.
While union bosses will cheer this move, America’s workers would pay the price.
