I think Sanders is going to have a hard time fighting the GOP hate machine if he's the candidate (doesn't matter what your unfavorables are, if you don't have weaknesses they will be assigned to you) but seriously, David Frum didn't exactly know who was electable in 2016, did he?
Saying that Democrats should learn from Sanders to be "left but not woke" ignores that "woke" is an empty buzzword in this usage.
Whatever the Democratic platform is, it will be derided as "woke".

If David Frum's preferred candidate gets the Democratic nomination and adopts his beliefs as their platform, he will himself deride it as "woke PC virtue signaling" and tack further to the right, to see what else he can get out of them.
