There's a ton of stuff here, despite the fact that my browser has facebook tracking fenced off as much as possible, I NEVER log in with facebook anywhere, and I'm privacy/tracker blocked to the gills. (STOP TRACKING ME YOU GUYS!)

This data sharing across platforms is one of the big components of privacy invasion via modern surveillance capitalism. I think it should legally be prohibited without a meaningful, informed opt-in. Keeping our data in silos is good for privacy! Keep fighting for it. /end

Ok common question I'm seeing is "doesn't this just mean they keep doing the same thing but I can't see it?"

Disconnecting the off-facebook activity from your profile separates it from YOU, so that data isn't used to target you with ads or to infer things about your life
