Really it feels like all the candidates should lean in more to "stop the crazy."

There will be a lot to do.
There will be a lot to undo.

But telling Americans "I'll lessen the dread and worry you feel every day" is a winning message for any/all.
"It's 3 am. Don't worry. Go back to sleep. He's gone. I've got this."
Also, nobody asked me but imho many/all of the leading candidates could do more/cut an ad along the lines of:

"I'm in a primary with a lot of smart and talented people with great ideas and skill sets. And if I'm president, I will ask them all to help lead this country."

Interesting that the Nor-Cal contingent, perhaps because the housing crisis is even more acute here, mostly came to support. Resistance came from LA. Some well-intended if IMHO misguided, but some decidedly not.

Detailed reporting out of who is voting which way and why is key.

Just putting this out there: If you need a new roof, really take a look at an IB roof. It's like a single sheet of PVC. Lasts a long time, very insulating Is white, so helps climate.
They last 20+ years, as long or longer than an conventional roof and since there are no real seams, no leaks.
Put one on almost 5 years ago (i was reminded, as I called them to get a quote for solar) and it cut our heat bills by 30% and draftiness waaaaay down. (1896 building, but still.)

What if @uber and @lyft chose to/were made to allow riders to choose hybrid or EV vehicles, and even gave credit to riders and drivers who took/drove them?
@Uber @lyft That seems an eminently possibly corporate or city/state policy, would speed the greater fleet turnover to EV, etc.
@Uber @lyft In fact, cities could mandate that @uber and @lyft help provide charging stations for those drivers/general public.

Americans are set to buy 170+ million new cars between now and 2030. At an average cost of around $38K, that's about $6.5 trillion—before accounting for gas (or electricity), insurance, repairs, etc. Imagine what people could do with that money if we made driving optional. 1/
Right now most people feel they have no realistic alternative but to buy a car, and our politicians are doing virtually nothing to change that. Their inaction is going to cost us trillions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of lives, and, ultimately, our planet's ecosystem. 2/
It's so frustrating to see how much we spend on transportation investments we all hate—cars and more traffic—and no urgency to change it. Even the money we spend on it in LA is laughably small compared to what its residents spend on cars—because they feel it's necessary. 3/

More companies than ever are waking up to the importance of diversity.

But *awareness* doesn't automatically lead to *effectiveness.*

Many teams are overwhelmed, asking "how can we hire more women?"

And I'm here to tell you, it's not rocket science. <thread>
First, gender is far from the only dimension of diversity.

Effective diversity is intersectional, aimed at removing systemic barriers for *all,* not just favoring one group over another.

But back to the main question!

I see a lot of companies thinking they have to commit to big goals and big budgets in the pursuit of diversity.

We can create complicated plans all day, but if you're overwhelmed/scrambling, I suggest starting with what's right in front of you.

Hey #tipsfornewdocs #medtwitter folks! I wanted to review side effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for a non-#oncology audience. Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) present across all medicine specialties so we are all in this together. 1/x
The most common ICIs are against PD-1 (e.g. nivolumab, pembrolizumab) and PD-L1 (e.g. atezolizumab, durvalumab). I use a blanket term “PD-1” throughout. Anti-CTLA-4 (ipilimumab) is a distant second; often in combo or directly after PD-1 in #melanoma #lung #kidney cancers. 2/x
They have led to pharma riches and Nobel Prizes and lots of TV commercials because they work really well for some patients. People with advanced #melanoma, #lcsm etc who used to live ~1 year now can hope to live for several years or more. 3/x
