This NYT storyline of “both sides switch sides” on Bolton misses the *whole purpose* of fact witnesses - it’s about what they saw, not whether you “like” or agree with them.

Most top fact witnesses are senior Trump officials, so obv Democrats would “disagree” with many of their views, just as the Dem House sought fact witnesses on obstruction like McGahn & Lewandowski — or how the GOP demanded Hillary Clinton and her aides testify about Benghazi.
So while the story is not “inaccurate” or wrong on the details, (and is by a great reporter), it assumes a premise of “political hypocrisy” that is irrelevant to the task at hand.
