This NYT storyline of “both sides switch sides” on Bolton misses the *whole purpose* of fact witnesses - it’s about what they saw, not whether you “like” or agree with them.

Most top fact witnesses are senior Trump officials, so obv Democrats would “disagree” with many of their views, just as the Dem House sought fact witnesses on obstruction like McGahn & Lewandowski — or how the GOP demanded Hillary Clinton and her aides testify about Benghazi.
So while the story is not “inaccurate” or wrong on the details, (and is by a great reporter), it assumes a premise of “political hypocrisy” that is irrelevant to the task at hand.

Really regret buying “RX BARS” in bulk only to learn they taste like dirty cardboard.

The thrust is Trump attempting to downplay his own link to the beneficiary of his use of this power.

Under DOJ protocol, independent attorneys do vetting and recs to avoid the unfairness/injustice/bias that can come with a POTUS just picking people he knows.

Also note Barr is *rushing* out an interview to defend himself against condemnation for blatantly improper interference by:

- nonpartisan legal experts
- top DOJ veterans
- some conservative legal leaders

Apparently facts still matter.

What veteran peers say still matters.
So this reaction from one of Trump's favorite cabinet members reveals what they do can reveal more than what they say ('I don't care about criticism etc')

I think it's so funny the moves made by my pd. It's clear as day, and the egregiousness, collusion, violating many rights, outburts in court, lies, gaslighting, and goading even, dude...I got all the emails. Video.
And what judge allows that? My fault somehow, right? Brady Rule, for my own stuff? MP clearly grandstander, put on an act, went way off kilter, lied, slammed papers, it was unhinged, down to misquoting case law.
Seriously, 1.5 yr old subpoenas too. And he allowed it all. This is a shitshow. The Brady Rule, you see that the key. I used it during an investigation that the PD not only knew about, took steps to collude with, knowingly acted against my best interests.
