A Collins aide told the Post Wednesday morning that she is “very likely” to support the vote for witnesses later this week and contested the suggestion that she was leaning against doing so or reconsidering her position, following chatter on Hill about whether she’s a firm yes.
Collins is waiting until the vote to make her final decision, the aide added, noting that has been her position all along.
This Collins statement still stands, per her office: “I’ve always said that I was likely to vote to call witnesses, just as I did in the 1999 Clinton trial.”
