Wow! Berners are using the same tactics NDP used during Canadian federal election.

Same language, same accusations.

Read the comments on this article.

Calling centrists Democrats in name only. Accusing them of being Republican. Secretly siding with Paul Ryan?
This is an attempt to split the vote.

Remember what happened last time? Berners refuses to vote or voted for Trump.

Same thing happened in Canada. Dippers refuses to vote strategically and wound up splitting the vote so many ridings went blue with less than 35% of votes.
Absolute refusal to see the threat posed by re-electing Trump. Absolute refusal to admit Bernie may not end up being the candidate of choice.

Sabotage from within the ranks of Progressives.
It’s now an established pattern of behaviour.

Is it organic? If you believe it is, you’re more gullible than Berners and Dippers.

It isn’t rational thinking to refuse to vote to save democracy. It’s irrational, self defeating behaviour; inexorable, inflexible & obstructive.
These are supposed to be progressives. In a pluralist society, it’s the subsection of people who are supposed to be the most malleable, adaptable and forward thinking. The trail blazers, pioneers, incurably curious and open to change.

It should be setting off alarm bells.
This type of behaviour is characteristic of a cult.

Thought reform is being conducted on both sides of the political spectrum.

This is a feature of Russian political interference in Eastern European fledgling democracies, African, South & North American democracies.
It isn’t normal for human beings to act like lemmings.

My experience with far left in Canada has demonstrated futility in trying to reason with people who have become Berners/Dippers. They’d sooner cut off their nose to spite their face than listen to reason.
Any and all attempts are blocked by responses using irrational, unreasonable and illogical talking points. These are known as thought terminating cliches.
There are phrases & verbal cues to those who’ve fallen victim to coercive persuasion (thought reform) to abruptly interrupt any cognitive dissonance a rational argument introduces.

Like:
*But he bought a pipeline
*Proportional Representation
*JWR/SNC
*Green New Deal
*Black face
I’m not sure what American versions of thought terminating cliches are emerging for 2020. Too early to tell. But in 2016 it was:
*Crooked Hillary
*But her emails
*Benghazi
*Lock her up
*DNC convention was rigged
*Military hawk
*Woke Blacks
These thought terminating cliches aren’t rational responses to challenging the far left’s allegiance, ideology or belief in their leader’s abilities.

They are cues for the far left to immediately halt consideration of a narrative and reject it in favour of the cliche response.
Mention it once in a dialogue and those impacted fall in line and adopt the cliche.

At that point, any rational consideration of ideas and facts becomes fruitless and futile.

Everyone unaffected has experienced this at least once on both sides of the political spectrum.
This must be addressed in US and Canadian politics.

Psychological manipulation and cult like adherence to political loyalty is destroying democracy. It’s made it impossible to consider alternate opinions and examine facts.

It’s coming from both sides. Far right and far left.
It’s also known as the Finkelstein method. The method used since Nixon to divide from a pincer attack and split the votes.

Organically, most populations are centrists. Finkelstein Method pushes warring tribes to the extremes of ideological belief and divides the electorate.
It’s virtue signalling without substance.

It’s a tactic used to divide and conquer.

It’s populist BS meant to muddy the water and clear a path for conservatives.

It’s also an adapted Russian strategy to destroy democracy. Pressure from both ends of the political spectrum.
Notice this thread doesn’t address the ideology Berners promote. Just the negative campaign tactics used to denigrate competition.

If your ideas are so great, you shouldn’t need populist methods and negative tactics. Your ideals should resonate with the majority.
Don’t let the far left divide the centre and left political strength.

I’d you want democracy, then let democracy determine who the next Democratic presidential candidate will be. And realize it may not be Bernie Sanders.
If something sounds to good to be true, 99% of the time it is.

Bernie is promoting pure socialist policy, not socialism democracy, but democratic socialism.

There is a huge HUGE difference between the two. Know the difference. Know what you are supporting.
When someone is blowing rainbows up your behind, you might want to check out what it actually means. There is no such thing as utopia. Fantasy societies are unattainable.

Democracy is hard work.

Everything worth fighting for is hard work.

Do the work.
