The #Shakira & #JLo #HalftimeShow2020 was obviously all about Women & Femininity. But the blatant sexuality made me pause.
How many people would be talking today about Women's bodies? Would they talk with disrespect or censure? I was concerned it would overshadow everything else

Originally I felt the stripper pole, barely there outfits, gyrating & sexual overtones sent the wrong message & took us backwards😳
But if the message is for Women to OWN their bodies & not have to HIDE their sexuality then I'm willing to consider an alternative modern message🤔

For years, women were taught if they were too sexy, dressed a certain way, or flirted they deserved sexual assault. It's a travesty that women were made to feel this way & we've woken to how wrong it was.

Instead of being oppressed we watched women of all shapes, sizes & colors celebrate their bodies & sexuality. On reflection I wonder if my initial reaction was a 'programmed' response. Shouldn't women be able to celebrate their bodies without judgement or censure? #WomensLib2020
