The view (and sounds) from my classroom across the street from the Oregon Capitol. Hundreds of trucks have come to town to jam up traffic to show their opposition to Oregon’s climate bill.
I may not be able to hold class today because it's unclear if we'll be able to hear each other. Ironically, the readings we're talking about in History of Conservatism cover Calhoun's anti-democratic, nullifying obstructionism designed to protect the economic elite's privilege!
Update. It’s gotten even louder. Chant with me now “This is what anti-democratic obstructionism looks like.”

Thinking about how history will remember Mike Crapo, Chuck Grassley, James Inhofe, Mitch McConnell, Pat Roberts, and Richard Shelby--all GOP senators who voted guilty on at least 1 count for Clinton's removal in 1999, and who voted to acquit Trump today.
Forgot to put Mike Enzi on that list. And also, let's not forget Lindsey Graham, Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Jerry Moran, Rob Portman, John Thune, and Roger Wicker...all Republicans who were in the House in '98 and voted for the articles of impeachment.
14 GOP senators. All white men. All very concerned about that one lie Clinton told about a blowjob in the Oval Office. All very concerned about preserving the dignity of the Presidency. All completely fine with President Trump trading aid to Ukraine for fabricated dirt on Biden.

This is how abortion supporters think. They constantly repeat a LIE to themselves.

"It's not a living human being."

They tell themselves this over & over because it is the only way many of them can rationalize the act of abortion.

I became pro-life back in 1985.

That was back when the Democrats & DNC Media [but I repeat myself!] kept saying it was the PRO-LIFE side that was lying to itself & denial by insisting the abortion act took a human life because it "wasn't human yet".
Here we are 35 years later and many of these pro-abortion people, despite all the medical advancement and scientific increase in knowledge, still insist on retreating into the same old lies.

"It's not human YET!"

So it's OK to kill that "thing" up to the day of birth.

1. For money/provision: But how much is enough? What about when we’re between jobs or retired?

2. For significance or status: But how high do you climb?

3. For meaning/purpose: But what if you don’t love your job?
When we look at Genesis 1-2 and Psalm 8, we discover that work is a pre-Fall calling, and one that is connected to our glory!

Work is part of our glorious creational design!
Work is collaborating with God to cultivate His world...by reflecting God’s wise and loving order into the world.

Why not just go speak to the Grand Jury? Clearly, it's not about avoiding spending more time talking about the investigation and your experience...

He can't help himself..
