We will not save the world by losing America.
"We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just." -- Abraham Lincoln
Because:
“In case of emergency, oxygen masks will drop down in front of you. Please pull the mask down toward your face and place the mask over your mouth and nose. If you are traveling with a child, please attend to yourself first, then the child.”
Why are we advised to attend to ourselves first, then the child? It sounds mean, but it is not. It is wise. America is the last best hope of earth. No other nation does more to help the world than America.
And that's how it should be. To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48).
But we will not be able to do that if we let down our guard and compromise America's immune system which maintains the integrity of this nation as a nation of laws.
A nation without borders cannot survive as a nation for long. Both Republicans and Democrats used to understand that. Perhaps they still do, despite the parochial political exigencies making one of the parties to sing from a different hymnal for now.
We build it so America can continue to be a bulwark to preserve freedom, justice, and rule of law; so America can continue to be a beacon of hope for the rest of the world; so America can fulfill its destiny as the last best hope of the world.
The End
