What makes the decision worse is that the BRP team have no clue about airlines. The critical factor in airlines is confidence. It's the trading currency. The shareholder failed or avoided to seek advice (and it was freely available) before making this
ill-informed decision. They are now faced with a predictable fallout we warned against right at the beginning. It's spelt out in Fit for Purpose and the Parly presentation I made in April of 2018. Top Treasury officials were present. As @palilj01 has
lamented, we have a penchant for creating self-inflicted tragedies. This is unacceptable. This process must be halted now because there is no strategy behind it. As explained, the BRP decision was badly rushed. We need to remove ego, be humble and re-evaluate
DPE says that they are concerned that SAA decisions will lead to uncertainty....Do you want to cry or laugh?? Here's why:
Here is a timeline that may assist in understanding the complexity behind the SAA turnaround. Plse share threadreaderapp.com/thread/1225770…
When an operational decision was made to reduce the London frequencies, Jarana was summoned to Parly to explain the decision. This is how ridiculous the situation was. And it took almost two months to get go ahead from Treasury.!! Ethiopian Airlines takes
a few days. The shareholder failed to understand the implications of restructuring completely. The continued presence of Jarana was therefore untenable. It's all because of lack of knowledge on part of shareholder. Egos aside this could have been avoided
