Did you watch the #Oscars? Did you see @ParasiteMovie make history?

Just a few years ago, this would have been impossible, because director Bong Joon-ho was on a government blacklist.

We know because some of us were on it, too.

We are a women-led peace movement organizing for an end to the Korean War.

As recently as 2016 Bong Joon-ho was placed on a govt blacklist in South Korea aimed at curbing the speech of artists & activists, the same one that targeted us & prevented us from entering our homeland.

For us, watching @ParasiteMovie sweep the #Oscars last night was a bittersweet reminder.

Things can change so quickly. But we have so much work left to do.

The grip of war still impacts the Korean peninsula. This year will be the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, which never officially ended. It’s called America’s “forgotten war” for a reason.

We love to see the #BongHive celebrate Parasite’s historic win!

We ask that you all join us in working to at last bring real peace to Korea, and urging the United States to formally end the Korean War.

There’s a bill in Congress urging exactly this. Take a look and see if your elected representative has co-sponsored it. If not, urge them to do so.
