Active situation downtown: Sheriffs office is trying to lock down the courthouse, massive police presence around Broadway, Woody, Pine and Orange.

Told by a sheriffs captain no injuries from the shots fired at patrol captain

Armored car left city hall headed toward orange
Armored car now returned to city hall, officers lined up looking at the alley between pine and spruce west of city hall
Source: officer was amid a traffic stop on woody when the back window of their patrol car was shot out. Shooter was not person being stopped
Armored car on the move again, looks like it’s headed toward orange. No word yet on where this person is or if they have the persons location.
Just watched the tactical vehicle pull back by the church, unload a few officers, help a woman and a baby out of a car, load them into tactical vehicle and head over to police station.

“We’ll catch the coward that did this to one of our officers,” says city council member Jesse Ramos, who confirms officer was not injured. “The Mayor and Sheriff are doing a great job. You mess with one officer, you mess with the whole city of Missoula.”

Made it back to my car and justice: no parking ticket. Trying to get a better location now. Things certainly feel less tense than they did an hour ago. Hoping to find out more soon.
A lot of movement, albeit slow, at the Uptown Motel on Woody and Pine. Tactical vehicle at the corner and guns drawn.

Some guy by the import market has been causing trouble all morning, police talking with him now but seems like he’s not directly involved.
Swat team moving to buildings further down Pine.
Drone still in the area, as people come out of building they’re being told to get back inside. People who don’t know what’s going on walking right into this scene. Alas, my tweets only reach so far
Seems like the swat team is moving door to door toward orange, which is still very much shut down.
Police tape is down around the bus station. Armored cars back in the cop shop lot. No official word on resolution/break/etc
