I'm a journalist but also a married gay man living in Mississippi. I'm not neutral when it comes to the future of the courts. My marriage (& my health care+a number of other things) was possible bc of a 1-vote majority on the Supreme Court that probably not longer exists.
I won't tell you who to vote for. But I don't have the privilege of being able to feign neutrality or play the purity game when it comes to human rights, because mine are on the line.
And despite being gay, I'm also a white man. The stakes are even greater for millions more.

So I won't tell you who to vote for. But if you're playing purity politics and "my way or the highway" at this point and ignoring the importance of the federal courts to millions of people whose rights depend on them, then please reflect on your selfishness.
