Interesting story of how we won Missguided as a client within a few months of launching @riseatseven ...

Missguided got in touch with us regarding our services, they were in a final stage pitch process looking for an agency to help them with links (a thread)...
caveat ** The MG seo team followed us on social media (from building our personal brands over the years) and saw the announcement on prolific north. YES agency social media and PR works! How else would they have known about a new start-up business in Sheffield?
They asked to chat regarding if and how we can help, leading to a request for a proposal/case study examples. Truth is - I've worked in this industry 6 years and done small bits of fashion-led link acquisition but no strong case studies to show off. I worried this
would hold us back...

@stekenwright built a relationship with the team at MG, spotting areas of growth and sending over free SEO tips/quick wins whilst I put together a plan/proposal.

I came up with an idea ...
I had a tonne of amazing case studies (just none fashion). I needed to prove I could build links to anything... So I ran a campaign for Rise at Seven. An agency that was a few weeks old with little brand/voice.
I came up with idea on a sunday afternoon and went live MondayAM
Remember this... I looked at infleuncer worth on Love Island, something Missguideds audience would be interested in. I knew this was a quick, easy turnaround campaign that could work and get me what I needed to prove we were capable..
I created a report on our site riseatseven.com/blog/influence… , pushed it to press and this is what happened.

The Drum, The Sun, Cosmo, Yahoo, Sky News and more were talking about Rise at Seven and our expertise.
We even featured on BBC world news TV to talk about the study
This drove 32 links, 2000 people to our site with TV and radio coverage too in the space of a few days.

This gave me what I needed to capture the attention of Missguided...
I packaged up the proposal, with current client work and included this case study saying "When you got in touch, we needed to prove we could create stories that your audience would share and journalists would link to. We wanted to show we can build links to anything"...
We got invited in to speak to the team, pitch ideas and strategy. We were told we came in last minute at the end of the pitch process. And within a few days we were selected.

This client win changed our business and my life. Helped prove what we were capable of...
As of today (5 months in) we have built over 150 links to Missguided with campaigns driving traffic in the tens of thousands organically and direct revenue too.

To say I am proud of where we have come is an understatement.

The team have gone on to secure huge clients and do
work that we enjoy and love to do. We are now an extension to the MG team working on SEO, product launches, infleuncer collabs, social media, events and more.

We're here to do awesome work that we show our mums and that captures the attention of our client contacts boss.
We then captured the attention of other fashion and beauty brands off the back of this which we have now secured. So to start off with O case studies and come out with these, is a huge success for me personally and us as a new agency.
