One definition of moderate is “middle ground.” The other is “reasonable.” So I ask, what is the middle ground we should look for when 30 mil ppl are w/out health insurance, 250,000 die from poverty each year & 62 mil work every day w/out living wages?
Or what’s a reasonable compromise w/ racist voter suppression & refusal to restore the VRA & expand access to the ballot? Why can’t we just say some things are wrong?
The way some talk of middle ground, it sounds like let’s reduce poverty & low wages a little bit, but not enough to make anybody mad. No wonder 100 mil Americans stay home & don’t even bother to vote.
The poor of this country tell me, “Politicians want to moderate our misery while we suffer.”
The Bible does not say, “Be moderate.” It says, “Do Justice.” “Care for the least.”
