Re: the installation of a #Consul in Nairobi by the National Government.
Random questions.

[1] So who gets appointed to run matters? A political name we're familiar with? A no-name bureaucrat?
[2] Is this a quid pro quo deal?
[3] If one end of a quid pro quo deal is Gideon "Sonko" Mbuvi stepping out, what's on the other end of the deal? No prosecution? Dropping of some charges? A quiet retirement?
[4] The statement covers 4 units of the Nairobi County Govt: Health, Transport, Public Works, Planning.
But, Finance, Environment Energy & Water, Education, ICT & E-Gov aren't included. Co-incidence? Assuming it's accurate, are we still using the same command structure here?
[5] Let's assume the County Assembly does not like the folks installed by the National Govt and decide to impeach that office holder [or the #Consul, in this context]. How would that work?
[6] Given the vast litany of charges he is facing, is it within Gideon "Sonko" Mbuvi's remit to legally transfer the functions of a County Govt to the National one? One of the lawyers, this. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a court challenge on this basis.
[7] From the former [is he?] Governor's side: why agree to this now? Why not just stick it out and fight the impeachment process in the County Assembly? Was it the Waititu impeachment in the Senate that changed things, or was there something else that convinced him to leave?
[8] Is there even a point in voting for a Governor for Nairobi in 2022? Worth noting that Art 187 doesn't have a defined time limit after which functions should swing back to say, the Devolved Govt. So what will City residents be voting for in 2022 other than MCAs and Senator?
[9] Alternatively, is this the opening shot in a move to make Nairobi akin to Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory [Abuja]? If so, why not just get it over and done with now, rather than draw it out?
[10] Vide Section 26, [2], [3], [b], seems there's a 14-day window at the very least, before this takes effect. constitutionnet.org/sites/default/…
[11] What next for Sonko's political career? Might he take another shot at being Nairobi Governor in 2022 after this transfer? If he did, would you vote for him?
[12] More legal questions:

Where's room for public participation in this entire fiasco? If the National Assembly or the Nairobi County Assembly object to it, can it proceed? Or, can the County Assembly veto Nairobi's choice of Consul to run the County Govt?
[13] Why shift functions to the National Government instead of just having a time-limited transition (90-120 days), leading into a fresh election for Governor of #Nairobi, without Gideon "Sonko" Mbuvi, on the ballot?
