Nonpharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) are actions, apart from vaccines and taking medicine, that people and communities can take to help slow the spread of illnesses. Practicing NPIs now will ⬇️ the spread of flu and will prepare us for #COVID #Preparedness #NPIs

Environmental NPIs apply in many settings. These include routine surface cleaning that helps to eliminate the flu virus from frequently touched surfaces and objects, and door knobs, childcare facilities, schools, workplaces, and other settings where people regularly gather. (5/8)
Schools play a very important role - especially by implementing the various NPIs described above, and by communicating with local health departments @MonroeHealth and sharing accurate information with parents and students. (6/8)

Community-level NPIs are more involved and will not happen without a lot of planning and coordination first. The two most common community NPIs are social distancing and temporary closures. (7/8)
