Those who demand relief for the Awaam by the govt throwing money at it know perfectly well that such measures are not sustainable. In Pak the govt is unable to tax the moneyed elite so to give to the awaam it either takes from the them or borrows, which also has to paid by common
people. Getting the fiscal deficit and ensuring that the government doesn't have to tax the Awaam or borrow from foreign lenders more are not just theoretically good, but the best way to provide relief to the Awaam. Those clamouring for immediate relief when the government is
is already burdened with debt and running high fiscal deficit is a singularly disingenuous. It reality such unsustainable demands are not made in the interest of the Awaam but a small group of rapacious rentiers who benefit most by so called relief, while the people have to bear
the burden of such 'relief' by having to pay higher indirect taxes in the long run.

Nothing would serve the Awaam interest more in the long run than having a government that has low/no fiscal deficits and country that has current account surpluses. The first will enable the govt
to not only not tax the people further, but also invest on their welfare and future eg education, health & safety. Having current account surpluses will ensure that the the nation builds up capital to invest in businesses that will generate jobs and more surpluses to invest more
Anytime you hear someone going on about about providing relief to the Awaam, ask such unmitigated charlatans how they propose to pay for such 'relief'. Ask them where will the money for 'relief' come from. There's no magic wand to generate the money. The government's is funded by
by the people. If the government has to borrow to give relief to the people it is the very same people who shall bear the burden of such borrowing. Next time someone talks about the awaam, ask how much he really cares about those whom he pretends to bleed for
